This is a simple page. We have a more professional page at CustomIslandTours.com, but because this page is made in simple html,
I am able to update it easier.
About requests for half-day tours,
or tours shorter than 8 hours:
We usually don't recommend a short tour,
and here's why.
The geography of the island is such that once you pass a certain point, you either have to double back, and then you're just seeing the same stuff over again, or you have to continue all the way around the island, and either way, it's the same mileage and time as doing the full 120 mile 8 hour tour.
There is a mountain range that runs from Waikiki to the North Shore and the only place to cross the mountains is right near Waikiki. After that you would have to go 60 miles in either direction, and then you end up doing the full 120 miles.
The best option for a Short Tour is to do the small loop that is on the South-East of the island, but that does not include the North Shore.
If you want to do the North Shore, then on a Short Tour you would be coming straight back the way you came, and that would not include stops like the Blow Hole and Makapu'u lookout that are on the South-East side of the island.
We have a limited number of tour vans and tour drivers, so we try not to book short tours because that would prevent someone from booking a full day tour. This is especially true during peak seasons like Summer and Christmas.
Below are some Sample Maps to explain possible routes.
Sample Tour 1, Full Circle Island Tour (7 to 9 hours)
This is our full 120 mile, 8 hour tour. This is what other companies call the Grand Circle Island Tour.
We usually do it counter-clockwise, so all of the turn-ins are on the right side of the road,
but we can do it clockwise to get to the North Shore first.
Sample Tour 2 (6 to 8 hours)
This is what I would call a 3/4 tour, but it can take close to 8 hours to complete.
This is a route that we could do if we went to the North Shore first,
but wanted to take the scenic way back and not have to double back.
By excluding the South-East corner of the island, it shaves off about 1 to 2 hours.

Sample Tour 3, North Shore Route (4 to 8 hours)
As you can see on this map, just the Drive-time to and from the North Shore is almost 3 hours, and that's without stopping anywhere.
If you were to do the hike to the waterfall, that would add another 1 to 1.5 hours.

Sample Tour 4 South-East Side (4 to 8 hours)
This is what I would recommend for a Short tour, whether you want to pay less, or you just don't have the time because you have other commitments.
The Good thing about this tour is that it is a loop, so it doesn't double back.
It includes the beautiful coastline with stops at the Blow Hole and Makapu'u Lookout. This however does not include the North Shore or the scenic drive past Kualoa Ranch.

Sample Tour 5, West Side (4 to 8 hours)
This is another option, but we don't recommend it, unless you've been here before and you're just out of things to do. The drive along the West side is very beautiful, but there are not very places to stop, and it dead-ends and then you have to double back.

Unfortunately, due to a slowdown in tourism, we've downsized our fleet from 7 vans to 3 vans.

Seats up to 10 or 11 customers. We've taken the 11th seat out to make room for getting in and out, but if we have 11 customers, we can put it back in. This van also has cargo space in the back for luggage. This van has the permits for the cruise ship Pier 2, and for Pearl Harbor.
Seats up to 5 customers. This van has the permits for the cruise ship Pier 2, and for Pearl Harbor. It's a hatchback so it has some cargo space in the back.
